Karen Fetty joined the Hanover-Caroline SWCD in 2017. She is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College where she earned a degree in biology with a minor in education. Karen has lived her entire life in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, inheriting a love for the Bay and the natural world from her mother. Karen has more than 20 years' experience as both a formal and non-formal educator, most recently as a sixth-grade science teacher in Caroline County. In her role as District Education Specialist, Fetty coordinates the District K-12 and community education programs. She is a proud mom to four sons and one daughter, and a lucky Gigi to three granddaughters. Karen lives in the woods on the South Anna River in with her Scotch collie, Maisy.
