Deadline is November 25 to apply for Broadband Advisory Committee

On December 11, the Board of Supervisors is expected to appoint five citizen members of a new Broadband Advisory Committee which will go to work in January 2020. Members will be expected to have expertise in fields such as information technology, internet service delivery and provision, GIS mapping and broadband infrastructure. Read the story here. County offices, facilities closed next Thursday and Friday

Hanover County government offices, solid waste facilities and library branches will be closed on Thursday and Friday of next week in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. May all have a great holiday surrounded by family, friends and food.

Ashland’s Holiday Parade on Sunday

Start the season on Sunday afternoon with some holiday merriment! Ashland’s 50th Annual Olde Time Holiday Parade will be held on November 24 beginning at 2 p.m. The parade starts at Thompson Street and South Snead Street and ends at the intersection of Henry Street with Archie Cannon Drive. The event is organized by the Ashland Kiwanis Club.
