Hanover Haunts

Looking for some hair-raising fun this weekend? Visit one of the many Hanover Haunts around town!  Terror on the Farm at the Ashland Berry Farm in Beaverdam will be open select nights through November 2nd.  Red Vein Haunted House at Hanover Vegetable Farm in Ashland will be open select nights through Halloween.  Hunt for the Richmond Vampire or Trick or Treat with the Knights Templar at Red Vein Escape Room in Ashland.  Visit Kings Dominion's Haunt in Doswell or go on a ghost hunt at the Ghosts Walk at Night event held at Hanover Tavern.

Drug Take-Back event tomorrow

Don’t let your unused prescription drugs fall into the wrong hands. On Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with Ashland Police Department and the Department of Public Works, will conduct a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. This event is sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration- Office of Diversion Control. The Mechanicsville Solid Waste Center, 7427 Verdi Ln, Mechanicsville, VA 23116, and the Ashland Police Department, 601 England St, Ashland, VA 23005, are the collection sites. Bring your pills for disposal (Sites cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps, only pills or patches). The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Registrar’s Office to be open tomorrow

The Hanover County Voter Registration and Elections Office will have special Saturday hours on October 26 and November 2 (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) for In-Person Absentee voting. Saturday, Nov. 2, will be the last day you can vote In-person absentee. Wednesday, October 30, is the final day you can request an absentee ballot by mail. Monday, November 4 at 2 p.m. is the cut-off for voting an emergency-only absentee ballot in the Voter Registration and Elections Office. The Hanover County Voter Registration and Elections Office is located in the Wickham Building, Room 119, of the Hanover County Government Complex. The phone number is (804) 365-6080.
