Spooky Halloween fun at Pole Green and Poor Farm

Hanover Parks and Recreation kicks off the Halloween season with SpookieFUN Fest, a family fun event, held tonight at Pole Green Park and tomorrow night at Poor Farm Park. Families with children 12 and under are invited to come in your best costume and bring their flashlight and trick or treat bag! SpookieFun things scheduled: DJ Luke in the Monster Mash Dance area with a special performance by the Richmond Urban Dance group, rides and inflatables (designed for ages 3-12), get up close with the Mystery Machine, Pumpkin Walk, visit Taylor's mini-pumpkin patch where you can decorate your pumpkin, SpookieFUN games, The Game Patrol, *Casper's FUN Hunt and Maze (ages 4 and under), *Flashlight Candy Hunt (ages 5- 12), just to name a few things you will find at SpookieFUN! Trick or treat in the Hanover Treats area and do crafts and activities in Taylor's Tricks area with participating local businesses and organizations. Board of Supervisors meets at 6 p.m. on Wednesday

The Board of Supervisors meets at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23. The Board will hear a status update on road projects prior to Planning public hearings beginning at 7 p.m. Board meetings can be watched live online with the archived version up on Thursday afternoon. 

Hanover Tavern AutumnFest

Hanover Tavern holds big autumn event tomorrow

Hanover Tavern’s 4th annual AutumnFest will be held tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Hanover Tavern Foundation’s signature community event of the year, the event features on-site, smoked pork, turkey, and beef brisket, Brunswick stew, side dishes, and fresh pies from Hanover Tavern's restaurant. There will be local craft beer and wine, live music by Nick Faulconer and The Anvil Brothers, as well as games and activities for the kids. Children’s activities include pumpkin decorating, petting zoo, hay slide, face painting, scavenger hunt, magic show, and kids' crafts. Admission is free and open to the public. Proceeds from this event benefit Hanover Tavern Foundation with a mission is to preserve, interpret, and utilize Historic Hanover Tavern as an historic, educational, community, and cultural resource center for the enjoyment of all.
