Information meeting Tuesday night on widening Sliding Hill Road

On August 20, Hanover County will hold a public information meeting on the major construction project of widening Sliding Hill Road to four lanes between Atlee Station Road (Rt. 637) and New Ashcake Road (Rt. 643). The meeting will be held in the Atlee High School auditorium beginning at 6 p.m. and is scheduled to last until 7:30 p.m. During this August 20 meeting, staff will review project plans, schedule, work phases, traffic impacts, and lane restrictions. There will be time for questions and answers. Community Services Board looking for nominations for its top honor

The Hanover County Community Services Board is excited to announce that the nomination period for the Jean C. Harris Award for Excellence is now open. The nomination form and further information can be found here. Mrs. Harris was a founding member of the Hanover CSB and served for nearly 20 years, and she has left a lasting legacy. Please consider nominating those whose work today follows in Mrs. Harris’s footsteps of advocacy and care for those in need in Hanover County. The challenges are great and their work is invaluable. The Fall 2019 issue of “The Hanover Review”, the County newsletter, was mailed this week and should be in your mailboxes if you live in the County. It can also be read on the website. This issue includes information about upcoming road projects, internet service in Hanover and photos of the 2019 “Spirit of Volunteerism” outstanding volunteers. Hanover County Public Schools have an expanded section and there is much information about Fall programs offered by Hanover Parks & Recreation.
