Shred documents, recycle household hazardous waste tomorrow

Tomorrow between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., Hanover County residents can bring their household hazardous waste for free recycling and personal information or documents to be shredded.  This special recycling event will be held at the Mechanicsville Refuse and Recycling Center on Verdi Lane. Dogs enjoying Pooch Pursuit

K9 Heroes Day with Pooch Pursuit to be held tomorrow at Pole Green Park

Hanover County Parks and Recreation will hold its 7th annual K9 Heroes Day, featuring Pooch Pursuit event, tomorrow at Pole Green Park from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. This is one of the department's most popular events and gives participants the chance to introduce their dogs to other dogs, just as is the case with the pooches shown above, in addition to getting the opportunity to check out a number of vendors.

Solid waste centers closed on Easter Sunday

Hanover County’s solid waste convenience centers will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 21.

Board of Supervisors meets Wednesday night

The Board of Supervisors will introduce the new County Attorney on Wednesday at its 6 p.m. meeting on Wednesday night, April 24. It will also see a new “Welcome to Hanover County” video, receive a presentation on anti-litter initiatives undertaken by the Department of Public Works and adopt its Fiscal Year 2020 Initiatives. Planning public hearings will begin at 7 p.m. Board meetings can be watched live online with the archived version up on Thursday afternoon.
