Board of Supervisors meets Wednesday afternoon

On Wednesday, March 13, the Board of Supervisors meets at 3 p.m. The Board’s agenda can be read here. Among several items on the agenda, Janet Lawson, Director of Human Resources, and Mandy Baker, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for Hanover County Public Schools, will provide the Board with an update on the recruitment for a replacement for Sterling Rives, who retired as County Attorney last month. There will be no evening session on Wednesday night. Board meetings can be watched live online with the archived version up on Thursday afternoon.

Nomination deadline for "Spirit of Volunteerism" awards

Hanover County recognizes its outstanding volunteers each year with its “Spirit of Volunteerism” awards. Anyone may nominate inspiring individuals or groups of any age, whether they serve small or large organizations, schools, neighborhoods, government, faith-based community initiatives or civic-led community outreach. School Board meets Tuesday night

The Hanover County School Board meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12. Among the items on the agenda for are approval of proposed revisions to the policy dealing with student-athlete concussions during extracurricular activities. The School Board will also review community use of school facilities and a discussion about regional partnerships.
