Planning Commission meets tonight

The Hanover Planning Commission meets tonight at 7 p.m. Public hearings include a request by Northlake Land Investments LLC to rezone 31.4 acres on the east side of Rt. 1 just south of its intersection with North Lakeridge Parkway to B-3, General Business, for industrial uses. A request by the applicant to rezone the Comprehensive Plan to eliminate the proposed Minor Collector Road that would extend Cobbs Road (Rt. 801) to North Lakeridge Parkway (Rt. 782) will also be heard.

County offices closed tomorrow and Monday

Hanover County government offices and trash and recycling facilities will be closed on Friday, January 18, for Lee-Jackson Day and Monday, January 21, for Martin Luther King Day.

School Board to hold public hearing on budget Tuesday

Dr. Michael Gill, Superintendent, has proposed his budget for Fiscal Year 2020, which begins July 1. The superintendent’s budget message can be read here. Weather permitting, the public hearing on the proposed budget will be held on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Board of Supervisors meets Wednesday night

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors meets at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23. Agenda items will include the County Administrator’s presentation of the Board’s proposed Fiscal Year 2019 Initiatives and the County Attorney’s legislative update. Planning public hearings will begin at 7 p.m. Board meetings are videostreamed live and the available for replay beginning on Thursday afternoon.
