Santa events at fire stations

Santa Claus is making several stops at County fire stations this month, beginning this Saturday, December 8 at the Hanover Courthouse and Chickahominy stations. These annual community events will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and the typical breakfast menu will be available. Santa also will be at the Black Creek Fire Station on Saturday, December 15. Santa Claus will also ride on top of a fire truck through some of the County’s neighborhoods this weekend –participating fire departments are Eastern Hanover; Ashland; Henry; Mechanicsville; Chickahominy; and Black Creek. Rabies vaccination clinic Saturday

Hanover Animal Control makes it easy for people to get their pets vaccinated by holding rabies vaccination clinics in the fall and winter. Vaccines will be administered at a cost of $8 per dog or cat. The next clinic will be held this Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Hanover County Administration Building from 9 a.m. to noon. Chief Jeff Parker talks about it here. The Administration Building is located at 7516 County Complex Road at Hanover Courthouse. Dr. Olga Van Beek is the vet.

Christmas events at Patrick Henry's Scotchtown

Special holiday events will be held at Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown west of Ashland on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are required. A Patrick Henry Christmas will be held Saturday night, December 8, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. On Sunday, December 9, “A Scotchtown Family Christmas” will be held between noon and 5 p.m. For more information, contact Scotchtown at (804) 227-3500 or email [email protected]
