Hanover honors military veterans with Veterans Day ceremony

You are invited to honor our military veterans by attending a Veterans Day ceremony at the Hanover Veterans Memorial at Hanover Wayside Park on Sunday, November 11. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. Watch the video here. Hanover Wayside Park is located at 8225 Hanover Wayside Road, Hanover, off of U.S. Route 301, approximately a mile north of Hanover High School.

Solid waste centers are closed on Sunday but open on Monday; County offices are closed on Monday

Hanover County’s six solid waste convenience centers will be closed on Sunday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. They will be open on Monday, November 12. Hanover County government offices will be closed on Monday, November 12. Branches of the Pamunkey Regional Library will be open on November 12.

Board of Supervisors meets Wednesday afternoon

The Board of Supervisors meets at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14. The agenda includes a presentation by The Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police (VACP) of Lifesaving Awards to members of the Sheriff’s Office. The Board will also consider a request for adoption of a resolution to name the Pole Green Road bridge over I-295 as the Lt. Bradford T. Clark Memorial Bridge. Lt. Clark died a hero’s death on October 11. Several Planning public hearings will be held beginning at 7 p.m. Board meetings can be watched live online with the archived version up on Thursday afternoon.
