"Civilian Response to Active Shooter" program on November 1

On Thursday, November 1, the Sheriff’s Office will once again be hosting a “Civilian Response to an Active Shooter” presentation. Thousands of members of our community have attended these presentations and have received a better understanding on how to respond in the event of an active shooter situation. This updated presentation will have more recent case studies as we examine how we can better prepare for these tragic events. It is designed for the individual citizen as well as business, government and community leaders. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Ms. Ellen Dixon by calling 804-365-6324 or email her at emdixon@hanovercounty.gov. Registration begins at 6 p.m. and the presentation begins at 7 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors meeting room located at 7516 County Complex Road, Hanover, VA 23069.
