Be ready for expected major hurricane later this week

Hurricane Florence, a very strong Category 4 storm, is currently expected to make landfall in the Carolinas on Thursday night or Friday. Current forecasts are that central Virginia could potentially see prolonged, heavy rains and very high winds. Heavy rainfall could continue through Saturday or Sunday, depending on the track Hurricane Florence takes and where it stalls over North Carolina. You should be prepared for rising waters, flash flooding and flooded roadways. There could also be widespread power outages. Minor fluctuations in the forecast track are still expected. However, now is a good time to review hurricane preparedness plans and ensure you are prepared. Here's a good Make a Plan checklist: https://www.ready.gov/make-a-plan
