Treasurer's Office opens in new location Thursday

On August 16, the Treasurer’s Office will open for business in the Chenault-Weems Building at Hanover Courthouse. The Commissioner of Revenue’s Office, including DMV Select Services, will remain in its current location through 12:30 p.m. on Friday and will re-open in its new location on Tuesday, August 21. The Department of Finance and Management Services is expected to open for business in the renovated building on August 24. The Treasurer’s Office and the Commissioner of Revenue’s office will be located on the first floor of the renovated building. The Department of Finance and Management Services will be located on the second floor of the new financial building, and the Department of Internal Audit will be located in the ground floor. The address for the Chenault-Weems Building is 7507 Library Drive, Hanover, VA 23069.

Planning Commission to hold public hearing Thursday night on proposed large-scale rezoning in Montpelier

Hanover’s Planning Commission will meet on Thursday night, August 16, and will hold public hearings beginning at 7 p.m. Among the items on the agenda are a request by Marchetti Properties, III, L.L.C. et al to rezone about 324 acres in the South Anna District for a mixed use development. The development is proposed to include 2,820 residential units and 313,140 square feet of retail and office space. It would be located on the east side of U.S. Rt. 33 at the Henrico County line. Also among Thursday night’s public hearings are a proposal to permit a public park and telecommunications tower in the Cold Harbor District and a conditional use permit for the new Atlee Library in Rutland. Planning Commission meetings are videostreamed live and are available on the website on Fridays.

Traffic patterns for Atlee Road Extended shift on Saturday

Starting Saturday, August 18, Atlee Station Road will be closed between Warren Avenue and Giles Farm Road. Traffic traveling east on Atlee Station Road will cross the bridge and reach 301 via Atlee Road in front of the Kroger. Access to Craney Island Farms and Cool Spring Baptist Church will be via existing Atlee Station Road from 301 at the WAWA. Atlee Station Road, headed west from Wawa will be closed to through traffic at Dewitt Drive. Local traffic, for residences on Giles Farm Road, Miles Lane, and access to the church will be allowed to continue past the road barricades at Dewitt Drive. Residents of Atlee Manor will access Atlee Station Road by using the existing traffic shift on the left side of Warren Avenue, and then will turn on to Atlee Station Road at a temporary intersection. This Phase will also reinstate the right turn to Atlee Road from Cool Spring Road. A video update describing the traffic shifts that begin Saturday can be viewed on the County’s YouTube page.
