Board names new financial building; set to open in August
What used to be the Circuit Court building at Hanover Courthouse has been renovated and beginning next month, will serve as the new home of the Treasurer’s Office, the Commissioner of Revenue’s Office, the Department of Finance and Management Services and the Department of Internal Audit. Yesterday the Board of Supervisors named the renovated building the Chenault-Weems Building, after longtime Commissioner of the Revenue Lois B. Chenault and the late George M. Weems, who served for nearly 50 years as Hanover County’s Treasurer. More information on when the offices will open will be in next weeks’ HAN.
