Board of Supervisors to meet at 3 p.m. on Wednesday

The Board of Supervisors meets at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25. During the afternoon, the Board will consider naming the former Circuit Court building, which next month will become the home of the County’s financial departments. The Board will also get an update on road construction projects. Several planning public hearings are scheduled to be heard beginning at 7 p.m. Board meetings can be watched live online with the archived version up on Thursday afternoon.

School supply collection drive starts

The Hanover Youth Service Council (HYSC) is coordinating a county-wide school supply drive. All supplies benefit Hanover’s elementary, middle, and high school students in need. The drive is through August 17. Collection boxes have been placed at locations throughout the county. In addition to donations through collection boxes, members will also conduct a live collection at the Kroger on 9351 Atlee Road in Mechanicsville on August 3 from 9 a.m. to noon. Special summer pet adoption event

Hanover County Animal Control is offering a Summer Adoption Event through August 1. $25 off any cat or kitten with approved adoption application. Sterilization/vaccination fees still apply. For more information, call 365-6485.
