Board of Supervisors meets at 3 p.m. on Wednesday

The Board of Supervisors meets at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27. During the afternoon, the Board is expected to appoint the Mechanicsville District representative on the Hanover County School Board. The Board will also get an update on the same-day service access program initiated by the Community Services Board in December. Several public hearings are scheduled to be heard beginning at 7 p.m. Board meetings can be watched live online with the archived version up on Thursday afternoon.

Summer re-enactments begin tomorrow in historic Courthouse

The Parsons Cause Foundation offers free performances this summer in the historic Hanover Courthouse. The 2018 series begins tomorrow morning and will continue through the end of August. Watch the video here.

Well water testing offered next week

Affordable, confidential water testing and education is offered through Virginia Cooperative Extension offices in Hanover County.  Pick up your kits on June 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Doswell Ruritan Club (16433 Washington Highway Doswell, VA 23047), and plan to drop off your samples on June 27 from 7 to 10 am at the Hanover Virginia Cooperative Extension Office (13015 Taylor Complex Lane Ashland, VA 23005).  Please contact Laura Maxey-Nay at [email protected] or 804-752-4310  to register.

High School Fire Academy #47

High School Fire Program graduates

The commencement ceremony for Hanover’s High School Fire and EMS program was held recently at Atlee High School. Seventeen (17) graduates from Fire Academy #47 received their diplomas. A video with two of the graduates can be seen here.
