Finding Value in Your Prime Active Aging Event
Older Adults are invited to attend our free event- enjoy breakfast, lunch, resources, guest speakers and more.

Hanover’s Third Annual Finding Value in Your Prime, Hanover’s Active Aging Event will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm at the Brock Center at Randolph Macon College in Ashland.

This is Hanover County's largest resource collaboration for seniors brought to you by Hanover Council on Aging, Hanover County Sheriff's Office, AARP, Ashland Police Department, Hanover Triad and Hanover County Parks and Recreation. Deadline to register is Friday, April 13th.

Participants will enjoy: breakfast; lunch; presentations to promote active lifestyles and positive aging, meet representatives of services and resources available to older adults, activities and door prizes.

Want to find value in your prime collectables or treasured heirlooms?  Plans are underway to include appraisers offering free appraisals of small table top sized items or jewelry.  There will be a limit of two items per senior attendee.

Countywide Volunteer Celebration -May 15th

  National Volunteer Week is April 15-21st !  RSVP today to attend Hanover’s annual Spirit of Volunteerism Celebration to be held on Tuesday, May 15th at 7:00 p.m. at Hanover High School Auditorium. This is a free event.
 
The event celebrates the generosity of daily contributions that volunteers make within our community. It is a gathering for all volunteers, within various organizations and county programs, who have shared their kindness and compassion throughout Hanover County.
 
This will  be an opportunity for Hanover’s Board of Supervisors to express appreciation for all our “everyday heroes”, to acknowledge this year’s 48 Spirit of Volunteerism award nominees and to announce the 2018 award recipients.
         
Guests will enjoy special performances by the Hanover Concert Band, Hanover Idols, the Hanover High School String Orchestra and the Hanover High School Jazz Ensemble. After the program, a light reception will follow.

This year’s guest host is Cheryl Miller, CSB Channel 6 News at Noon Anchor.
