Angela Kelly-Wiecek to hold town hall style meeting Tuesday night

Chickahominy District Supervisor Angela Kelly-Wiecek will hold a Community Meeting on March 27, 2018. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the Pearson’s Corner Elementary School library. During the town hall-style meeting, Ms. Kelly-Wiecek will provide a brief overview of the county’s proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year as well as some information on related public projects. The Board’s public hearing on the proposed budget will be held on April 4. This meeting will also have a specific focus on transportation issues and updates to the 2018 Comprehensive Plan.

Board of Supervisors meets Wednesday night

Among the items on the agenda of the March 28 meeting of the Board of Supervisors is the recognition of this year’s Planning Academy graduates. The Board meeting begins at 6 p.m. Several Planning public hearings are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Board meetings can be watched live online, with an archived version generally up on Thursday afternoon.

Board names park after Elton Wade

The Board of Supervisors has unanimously voted to name the future park in eastern Hanover after the late Elton J. Wade, Sr. Mr. Wade served as the Cold Harbor District’s representative on the Board of Supervisors for 24 years, from 1991 until his retirement in 2015. He was also a founding member of the Black Creek Fire Department and a 50-year employee of Hanover County Public Schools. The future 55-acre park will be built at the intersections of Cold Harbor and Rockhill roads and will be known officially as Elton Wade Park at Cold Harbor.
