Comp Plan Informational Meeting on January 31

An informational public meeting on the proposed 2017-2037 Comprehensive Plan update will be held on Wednesday, January 31, at 7 p.m., in the Board of Supervisors meeting room at Hanover Courthouse. This meeting will be designed to enable citizens to review and ask questions about the Update as currently proposed. Over the past several months, the Planning Commission has been working on amendments and revisions to the current Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission has made recommendations to the Board, and the Board wants citizens to have an opportunity to see all of the potential changes before the public hearing is held. Currently, the Board of Supervisors is scheduled to hold its public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan update at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14.

GYSD Youth Planning Coalition

Service projects sought by youth

Hanover County Community Resources is seeking to mobilize thousands of youth to shower our community with volunteer activities on and around Global Youth Service Day (April 20-22). The goal of GYSD is to engage youth, ages 5-25, in helping non-profits and community groups to forward their missions and make Hanover an even better place to live! We would like you to participate in these days of service by registering a service project that can be completed by youth. The Department will help with design concepts, promotion, and recruitment of volunteers for your project. The Youth Planning Coalition is also seeking members. Contact Danielle Sarbo at [email protected] or call 365-4180.
