Dunlop appointed Director of Communications and Community Engagement

County Administrator John A. Budesky is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristin Smith Dunlop as Director of Communications and Community Engagement for Hanover County. Dunlop, a veteran journalist who most recently worked for Henrico County Public Relations, begins her new role February 1. Before getting into Public Relations, Dunlop had an award-winning career in television news, including five years at WRIC-8. For more about Kristin read here.

Assessment review period extended through Feb 1

Informal assessment review period is extended through February 1

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors has extended the informal assessment review period until February 1, 2023. The strong real estate market in Hanover has led to increases in value for homes throughout the County this year. Members of the Board of Supervisors thought that providing additional time for citizens to discuss their assessments would be appropriate. Any property owner can contact the Assessor’s Office at 804-365-6029 to discuss their assessment.

Canova Peterson

Peterson, Dibble elected to lead Board of Supervisors in 2023

W. Canova Peterson of the Mechanicsville District has been elected Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for 2023. He succeeds Angela Kelly-Wiecek of the Chickahominy District, who was the Board’s 2022 chair. Mr. Peterson was elected in 2011 and has served three terms. Susan P. Dibble of the South Anna District was elected Vice Chair. Mrs. Dibble was elected in 2019 and is in her first term. The Board’s next meeting is on January 25 at 6 p.m.
