Holiday hours for Thanksgiving

Hanover County Government offices, libraries and courts will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 23 through Friday, Nov. 25, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Trash and recycling centers will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25. All trash and recycling centers will be open on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Comments on Fall Line Trail
accepted through November 30

The Virginia Department of Transportation will accept comments on the proposed Fall Line Trail through November 30, 2022. Ways you can comment are here. The northern section of this trail will connect the existing Trolley Line Trail in the Town of Ashland to the Chickahominy River and across into Henrico County. Ultimately it will be a 43-mile, multi-use trail from Ashland to Petersburg. VDOT plans to issue bids for construction by the end of this year. Construction is planned to start in the summer of 2023 and be completed in 2025.

November 30 is input deadline for County's proposed Strategic Plan

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors is considering updates to its five-year Strategic Plan for the County government. The Board is seeking public comments and feedback on the proposed plan, particularly the content. The proposed plan and its individual chapters can be read on the Board’s page here. Feedback on the plan will be collected through November 30. Feedback will be reviewed and considered for updates and edits to the draft plan before it is presented to the Board for requested approval at its 2 p.m. meeting on Wednesday, December 14.
