Hanover to honor its veterans Friday

Hanover County will honor its military veterans on Veterans Day, which is November 11, with a ceremony to begin at 2 p.m. The annual Veterans Day observance will be held at Hanover Wayside Park. Memorial and Honorary Pavers will be available for purchase at the event for a discounted cost of $75. Dedicated in 2007, the Hanover Veterans Memorial honors Hanover military veterans who were killed in hostile action from World War I to the present day, and those who have or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. Caregiver Expo 11-9

1st annual Caregiver Expo and Resource event on Wednesday

In honor of National Family Caregivers month, the Hanover County Department of Community Resources, Senior Connections (the Capital Area Agency on Aging), Hanover Council on Aging and Hanover Parks & Recreation are partnering to host a FREE Caregiver Expo and Resource Event on Wednesday, November 9, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Hanover Arts & Activity Center located at 500 S. Board of Supervisors meets Wednesday at 2 p.m.

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors meets Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. The Board will make and hear a number of presentations. After dinner, the Board’s evening session will begin at 6 p.m. Among the Planning public hearings on the evening agenda are a request from General Services for a conditional use permit that would permit a fire station near the intersection of Lee-Davis Road and Laurel Meadow School Road.
