Reception at Hanover Museum of History & Culture celebrates expanded exhibit

A reception for the expanded “Leaders & Legacy: Women of Hanover” exhibit at the Hanover Museum of History & Culture drew a large and enthusiastic crowd on the evening of October 13th. The exhibit recognizes women from all walks of life who made their mark on our county's - and our country's - history and culture from the 1600's to the present day. "Leaders & Legacy is an important example of how we have begun tell ALL the stories here in Hanover,” said Angela Kelly-Wiecek, the Chair of the Hanover County Board of Supervisors and the representative of the Chickahominy District. “We want to encourage more cultural experiences like this one because they create broader understanding, better community engagement, and ultimately they help us form good public policy.” .

Rabies vaccination clinic

Rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats to be held Saturday

All dogs and cats (including so-called ‘barn cats’) are required by law to be vaccinated for rabies at four months of age. For dogs, you also must have tags and a valid license proving the vaccination. Hanover Animal Control makes it easy for people to get their pets vaccinated by holding two rabies drive-through vaccination clinics this year. Vaccines will be administered at a cost of $10 per dog or cat. The first clinic will be held this Saturday, Oct. 29, at Patrick Henry High School from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information read here.
