Board of Supervisors meets Wednesday at 2 p.m.

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors meets on Wednesday, July 27, at 2 p.m. The Board will be asked to approve the donation of property that will be used for Fire Station #17. Other items on the afternoon agenda include a presentation on services for seniors; a status report on the ongoing Comprehensive Plan update; and a transportation update. Public hearings will begin at 6 p.m. The first public hearing will be regarding the potential approval of an agreement granting a non-exclusive cable TV franchise to Shenandoah Cable Television, LLC. Several Planning public hearings will follow. The full agenda with staff reports can be read here. Library Listening Sessions

County will hold library listening sessions today and tomorrow

Hanover County’s Department of Communications and Community Engagement will hold listening sessions at the Montpelier Branch Library today (July 25) from 2:30-4:30 and tomorrow at the Atlee Branch Library from 12-3 p.m. We want to know how best to inform you and engage with you on important events, projects, and services. We also want to know how you prefer to receive communications from the county and what you what to hear from Hanover. We invite you to take a short Citizen Engagement Survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HanoverEngagement. These events are in coordination with a visit from Jack’s Jungle, a fun experience for the young and young at heart. Snacks will be provided during the listening sessions.

CSB seeking nominations for prestigious Harris Award

The Hanover County Community Services Board is honored to announce that the nomination period for the Jean C. Harris Award for Excellence is now open. The nomination form and further information can be found here. Nominations are due by September 9, 2022. This annual award recognizes extraordinary community members and organizations that offer unwavering support and services to those in need.
