Special event at Hanover Airport Saturday and Sunday

Take off this weekend with an adventure you'll never forget - the Warbird Showcase at the Hanover County Municipal Airport! Purchase tickets now to fly in these World War II aircraft, enjoy classic cars, food trucks and more in this family event held Saturday and Sunday from 10-4 each day. The Hanover County Municipal Airport is located at 9500 Sliding Hill Rd, Ashland VA 23005. The event itself is free with free parking. Adoption fees waived at Hanover animal shelter through Saturday

Through Saturday, July 9, Hanover County Animal Control is waiving all adoption fees for qualifying adopters. For any adoption-related questions call 804-365-6485 during regular business hours or stop in, staff will be glad to meet you. The shelter is open Monday-Friday 10-4:30 on Saturday from 10-3:30 by appointment only.

Health District to offer COVID-19 vaccination clinics for young kids

Starting next week, the Chickahominy Health District which includes Hanover County will offer the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 6 months through 4 or 5 years old, following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration. On Thursday, July 14, there will be a clinic at the Ashland Volunteer Rescue Squad at 203 Duncan Street from 11-2 and 3-6. On Thursday, July 21, a clinic will be held at Memorial Regional Medical Center from 9:30-12:30 and 1:30-4:30. These clinics are by appointment only, and you can reserve your spot by visiting tinyurl.com/vaxCHD or calling 804-365-3240. Vaccines are free and no insurance is required.
