Message from the Registrar's Office

An error was made on voter ID cards mailed to the Ashland Precinct, #101 voters. The cards list the wrong House of Delegates District. The correct district for voters in the 101 Ashland precinct is the 59th District. The Hanover County Registrar conducted a thorough audit and the error is limited to the Ashland Precinct, #101 and impacts 2,188 voters. No other county precincts have been impacted. No ballots, votes, or elections have been impacted. We are working to correct that precinct number on the voter cards. The Hanover County Registrar’s Office is looking into what happened and is working with Virginia Department of Elections. New cards will be issued to voters in plenty of time for the November election. We apologize for this any inconvenience this may cause.

Information on Montpelier Recreation Center and Library

Hanover residents will soon be able to enjoy a new library and recreation center in Montpelier. The Board of Supervisors has approved a conditional use permit for the Montpelier Recreation Center and Library project. The plan calls for a roughly 20,000 square foot building which includes a new library complete with classrooms, study rooms and a conference room. The recreation center will feature a full-size gym as well as two classrooms. The project also includes a new ballfield with outdoor restrooms at Wickham Field.
