Budget public hearing

Public hearing on County budget to be held Wednesday night at 6 p.m.

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors will hold its public hearings on the County Administrator’s proposed budget and tax rates on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 6 p.m. No tax rate changes are proposed. County Administrator John A. Budesky’s strategic investments are designed to meet the most urgent public needs in the areas of citizen services, the workforce and aging facilities. County proposes to increase tax relief for elderly, disabled

Included within this year’s County budget proposal is an enhancement to the program providing relief from real estate taxes for Hanover’s elderly and disabled. The changes would make it possible for more residents to quality for the relief and increase the amount of relief given. A story about the proposal can be read here.

Green T intersection video

Sliding Hill/New Ashcake intersection road project slate to begin Monday

Work begins Monday, April 4 on the construction of a continuous Green T intersection at the intersection of Sliding Hill and New Ashcake roads. Work will generally take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and continue for a couple of months. You can watch a video explaining the project here. The story is here.
