Allen Davidson appointed interim Beaverdam supervisor

R. Allen Davidson, a 31-year veteran of the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office who recently retired, has been appointed by the Board of Supervisors as the interim representative filling the vacant Beaverdam District seat until a special election is held. The Board chose Davidson from a field of about 14 candidates who nominated themselves for consideration. He worked for the Sheriff’s Office from 1989 until the time of his retirement in 2020. At the time of his retirement, Davidson was Lt. Colonel and second in command, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Sheriff’s Office. He will be sworn in prior to the Board’s February 9 meeting, at which he will take the seat.
