Board of Supervisors meets Wednesday

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors holds its first meeting of 2022 on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Board’s first order of business is to elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman for this year. The Board also is scheduled to hear an update on the Comprehensive Plan, focusing on a project logo and website and upcoming public engagement opportunities. Other agenda items include a legislative update for the 2022 session of the General Assembly, an update on waste/recycling issues, and a transportation update. At 6 p.m., the Board will hear from representatives of the proposed Chickahominy Pipeline (below). Ask questions of Chickahominy Pipeline!

Representatives of Chickahominy Pipeline LLC have agreed to appear before the Board of Supervisors at their meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. to provide an overview and answer questions on their plan to build a natural gas pipeline through five counties, including Hanover, in order to serve a proposed natural gas power plant in Charles City County. No action or citizen comments will be taken by the Board during the meeting on this topic, as this is not a public hearing. However, the Board asks citizens to submit questions in advance which can be presented to the Chickahominy Pipeline representatives. You can submit your questions here. Health Department holds COVID vaccination clinic on Thursday

The Chickahominy Health Department will hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Hanover Vaccination Center at 135 Junction Drive, Ashland, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All vaccines free of charge, including booster doses for those who are eligible.
