Redistricting community info meeting next week

Hanover County has held three public information sessions on the proposed reapportionment of population in County election districts, with another one scheduled for Mechanicsville High School on Wednesday, November 3. The proposed reapportionment is the result of the 2020 U.S. Census, which shows several of the 7 districts needing adjustments in population to ensure equal representation in each district as required by Virginia law. This election redistricting has absolutely no effect on school district boundaries. No formal presentations will be given. Stations will be set up with pertinent maps and other materials available for review. Staff will be available to answer questions and receive comments. All sessions begin at 6 p.m. but you can drop in at any time before 7:30.
