Birthday celebration continues with Community Conversation at Hanover Tavern next Thursday, Sept. 23

On Thursday, September 23, County Administrator John A. Budesky and former Hanover County Planning Director and Deputy County Administrator (and current Ashland Town Council member) John H. Hodges will participate in a moderated community conversation about the recent past and future of Hanover County. This program will be offered in the theater at Hanover Tavern at 7 p.m. It’s free but seating is limited. To make a reservation, email the Ashland Museum at [email protected]. Masks are required inside the Tavern. The Hanover Tavern restaurant is open until 8 p.m. that evening. This program is in connection with the Change in Rural America exhibition at the Hanover Museum of History and Culture, which opened last month on the lawn of the historic Hanover Courthouse.

Absentee voting begins tomorrow

Hanover voters can begin casting absentee ballots for the November 2 election beginning Friday, Sept. 17 at 8:30 a.m. Absentee voting stations are located at all polling places as well as at the Wickham Building at Hanover Courthouse. The stations will be open through 7 p.m. on November 2. For more information contact the Voter Registration and Elections office. Here are the polling locations. Hanover Tavern AutumnFest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25

On Saturday, September 25, Hanover Tavern will hold its big fall event - the Hanover AutumnFest - from 10-3. The 6^th annual Hanover AutumnFest presented by Anton Paar is the Hanover Tavern Foundation’s signature community event of the year. The Tavern grounds become the backdrop for a day of food, family fun, and live music. This event is part of Hanover County’s 300^th birthday celebration!
