On Wednesday, September 8, the Hanover Board of Supervisors will meet beginning at 2 p.m. The Board will consider a resolution to file a grant application for broadband internet service. Staff is working with two private internet service providers, CenturyLink and All Points Broadband, on a plan announced in July to provide broadband coverage throughout the County. The Board will also hear an update on staff preparations for the redistricting process for Hanover’s voting districts brought about by population changes resulting from the 2020 census. Board meetings are videostreamed live and the archived meeting is generally available the day after the meeting.
County offices and other facilities closed on Monday
Hanover County government offices, courts, solid waste centers and libraries will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy the holiday!
Delays in recycling service reported
Industry wide driver and helper shortages have resulted in delays and cancellations of residential recycling in central Virginia including Hanover. Residents can use the County’s drop off recycling locations if they can’t wait until the next collection. Note these will be closed on Monday for Labor Day.
