CSB looking for nominations for Jean C. Harris Award

Harris Award for Excellence, the department’s annual award honoring people who have followed in Mrs. Harris’s footsteps of advocacy and care for those in need in Hanover County. Public Utilities customers can receive assistance in paying their water/sewer bills

Customers of Hanover County Public Utilities are invited to apply for assistance in paying their water/sewer bills through the department’s Water and Sewer Utility Relief Program. Grant funds are available through the federal CARES Act to help customers who were adversely impacted by the COVID-19 crisis paying bills dated between May 19, 2020 and July 6, 2021. To be considered, customers will need to complete a Customer Intake Form available on this page attesting to the fact that they have been impacted by the COVID crisis.

Advisory regarding mailings for absentee ballots

Some voters in Hanover County may receive mailings with applications for absentee ballots. These mailings, though not fraudulent, are being sent by third-party organizations Voter Participation and the Center for Voter Information – not by the Hanover County Voter Registration and Elections Office or by the Virginia Department of Elections. Hanover County’s election office advises county voters that it does not mail unrequested applications for absentee ballots. The office will not solicit residents to vote either absentee or on Election Day. If a voter returns a completed and signed application provided by one of the third-party organizations, Hanover’s elections office will send an absentee ballot to the voter.
