Volunteers needed to take CASA training; deadline near

The Hanover Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program is now accepting applications for the next volunteer training scheduled to begin June 12. Training will be held weekly with two Saturday sessions.  The Hanover CASA program trains, recruits, and supervises volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court process.  June 5 is the deadline application. Time is running out to get your vaccination at Clinic 

The Hanover COVID-19 vaccination center is entering what is expected to be its final weeks of activity, so if you are a Chickahominy Health District resident, haven’t gotten your vaccination and want one, it’s time to act. There is a Moderna clinic on from 9-11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 24; a Pfizer clinic from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26; and a 9-11:30 a.m. Moderna clinic on Friday, May 28. Call 365-3240 to schedule an appointment or fill out these fields. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are accepted. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Barton hockey rink at Courthouse Park to be saved with Capitals help

A unique agreement between Hanover County and the Washington Capitals professional hockey team will result in improvements being made to a beloved roller hockey rink at Courthouse Park. The Capitals worked with the family, which raised money through a Go Fund Me page, and the Hanover Department of Parks & Recreation. "It's very rewarding," a team representative said.
