Board denies Hickory Hill rezoning request
The Board of Supervisors last night denied a request from Hickory Hill II, L.L.C., to rezone approximately 51.5 acres from A-1, Agricultural, to MX, Mixed Use with conditions and B-2, Community Business with conditions. The developers proposed to create a master planned office/retail center with an adjacent residential community consisting of 100 age-restricted townhouses. However, a number of residents opposed the request, saying it was inconsistent with the mostly rural nature of the property. The property is located on Rt. 54 at its intersection with Providence Church Road. The Board’s meetings can be watched here.
