Hickory Grove rezoning case to be heard Wednesday night

On Wednesday, March 10, the Board of Supervisors will hear a request from Hickory Hill II, L.L.C., to rezone approximately 51.5 acres from A-1, Agricultural, to MX, Mixed Use with conditions and B-2, Community Business with conditions. The proposed master plan will create a master planned office/retail center with an adjacent residential community consisting of 100 age-restricted townhouses. Here is the staff report. The public hearing could begin as early as 6 p.m.; it is the only public hearing on Wednesday night’s agenda. Note the ongoing restrictions on in-person attendance due to the COVID-19 situation. The deadline for submitting comments electronically is Tuesday, March 9, at 5 p.m.

The Board’s Wednesday, March 10 meeting begins at 2 p.m.  On the afternoon agenda are a presentation by Deputy County Administrator Jim Taylor on the COVID-19 vaccination situation; a budget presentation on compensation and benefits; a request for adoption of a resolution requesting additional $200 Fine signs to address speeding on Sinclair Road in the Sinclair Manor subdivision; a summary of CARES Act funding in Hanover; and a legislative update from County Attorney Dennis Walter.
