Municipal Utility Relief Program Deadline Approaches
The deadline to apply for the Municipal Utility Relief is January 13, 2021. The relief program is being funded by a grant under the Federal CARES Act and Virginia COVID-19 Municipal Utility Relief Program to Assist Customers. The relief fund helps those who have incurred economic hardship as a result of COVID-19. Qualifying customers are eligible for relief for past due balances for both residential and non-residential services billed between May 19, 2020 and November 19, 2020. To apply, customers must submit a CUSTOMER INTAKE FORM by the January 13, 2021 deadline. Applications received after the January 13, 2021 deadline but before January 26, 2021 will be processed if there are remaining funds and if time allows.
If you have incurred an economic hardship due to COVID-19 and would like to participate in this program, the CUSTOMER INTAKE FORM may be returned by one of the following:
- Mailed to PO Box 470, Hanover, VA 23069-0470. Please allow at least seven (7) days for delivery. Please note if you send it by mail, having it post marked by January 13, 2021 is not sufficient to ensure your account will be evaluated for participation
- Emailed to [email protected]
- Dropped at Public Utilities offices at 7516 County Complex Road, Hanover, VA 23069
- Submitted on our website at www.hanovercounty.gov/utilityreliefprogram
