Board of Supervisors meets at 3 p.m. on Wednesday

The Hanover Board of Supervisors meets at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9. (Agenda part one can be found here and part two can be found here.) Among the items on the afternoon agenda are a presentation on this year’s real estate assessment; the Human Services annual report; and a request for approval of a Broadband Plan. Planning public hearings will begin at 7 p.m. This is the last Board meeting of the year. In person attendance is limited to no more than 25 individuals in accordance with Governor Northam’s request. Citizens wishing to attend will be required to wear a facial covering. You have until Monday at 5 p.m. to submit comments via email for Citizens Time or the public hearings. All Board meetings are videostreamed live, with the archived version being available generally on Thursday afternoon.

Making the holidays brighter for those in need

Would you like to help make the holidays brighter for others? The Hanover County Department of Community Resources has a list of organizations seeking holiday assistance for those they serve. “In person” volunteering needs may be limited, but this year’s “wish list” is still full of opportunities to show compassion and bring joy to others. The “Making Holidays Bright” holiday wish list provides individuals, businesses and community groups with opportunities and contact information of local agencies that are in need of community support as they serve others during the Holiday season. County’s 300th birthday video celebration continues

Hanover officially turned 300 years old last week, but the celebration continues. We have more special "happy birthday" video messages to share from our friends in and around the county.
