Hanover extends application period for Small Business Resiliency Grant program

The application period for Hanover County’s Small Business Resiliency Grant program has been extended to August 14 at 11:59 p.m. The maximum grant amount available to an individual business under this program is now $7,500. Made available by the Board of Supervisors from the County’s Coronavirus Relief Funds, the program provides a one-time, emergency grant to eligible, for-profit small businesses in Hanover County. The purpose of the grant is to assist with unplanned costs incurred as a direct result of interruptions to business and mandated business closures due to COVID-19.

Alternating lane closures on Sliding Hill Road on Sunday

Alternating lane closures with flagging operations are scheduled for Sunday, August 2, for the purposes of replacing an existing 12” waterline gate valve in the road at the intersection of Sliding Hill Road and Atlee Commerce Blvd. These lane closures are scheduled to occur from 8 a.m. through 3 p.m., and this work will impact eastbound and westbound traffic on Sliding Hill Road. These activities could be impacted by weather conditions but delays are not anticipated at this time.

Hanover Economic Development creates job referral app

Hanover County Economic Development has created the department’s newest app – Hiring in Hanover, VA. While not designed to list individual job postings, the app provides direct links to the business’ job page or job search website of Hanover-based companies. Each listing also includes representative job openings, a description of the company, address information, a link to the company’s website, and additional instructions about accessing local jobs on each company’s web page.
