Public Hearing to Discuss CARES Act

The budget supplement provided by the CARES act for COVID-19 project will be discussed during a public hearing being held on Wednesday night.  The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act of 2020 provides funding relief for expenses resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.  The funds may be used for qualifying expenses incurred as a result of the public health emergency resulting from COVID-19.  Staff is recommending that the Board approve the budget supplement of $9.4 million in federal funding for the FY20 budget and re-appropriate the FY20 remaining balances effective July 1 for the CARES Act projects in FY21.
