Face coverings now required inside county buildings

Governor Northam has issued an executive order requiring face covering while inside buildings. Accordingly, all visitors over the age of 10 years to Hanover County government buildings must wear face coverings over the nose and mouth while visiting Hanover County government buildings as established by Executive Order 63. If you do not have a face covering, please request one from the department you will be visiting. Please call 365-6000 and our staff will assist you. 

Tomato Festival Cancelled

2020 Tomato Festival cancelled

Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Hanover Tomato Festival has been cancelled. “The Hanover Tomato Festival is a time-honored tradition in our community and we look forward to seeing everyone at the 2021 event,” stated the Department of Parks & Recreation. “We will stay connected with all of those involved with the event through the website (www.hanovertomatofestival.com), Instagram (@hanovertomatofestival), Facebook (@hanoverparksrec) and Twitter (@hanoverparksrec) as we plan for next year’s event.”

COVID-19 Testing

Citizens take advantage of COVID-19 testing

The Chickahominy District of the Virginia Department of Health joined Hanover Fire/EMS in offering free COVID-19 testing on Tuesday in Ashland. More than 100 people received the testing. The health department hopes to offer another community testing opportunity to the public elsewhere in the county in the near future.
