School Board to hold public hearing on proposed budget Tuesday night

The public hearing on the superintendent’s proposed Fiscal Year 21 School Budget will be heard on January 28 at 7 p.m. Dr. Gill presented his proposed Fiscal Year 2021 School Operating Budget, five-year capital improvements plan and FY 21 school nutrition fund budget this week.

Kelly Evco named to School Board

The Board of Supervisors has appointed Kelly Evco to be the South Anna District’s representative on the School Board. She replaces Sue Dibble, who was elected to the Board of Supervisors in November. Mrs. Dibble recommended Mrs. Evco to replace her, and the Board unanimously adopted her recommendation.

Citizens Broadband Committee begins meeting

The Broadband Committee appointed by the Board of Supervisors will hold their first meeting on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 4 p.m. The meeting will be held in the training room of the Emergency Communications Center, which is located at 7501 Library Drive, Hanover VA 23069. The six citizen members and two Board members will analyze existing maps, determine what infrastructure exists and how it can be leveraged to expand and improve service and develop practical solutions for serving the unserved and underserved areas of the County and prioritize these solutions.
