County offices closed tomorrow and Monday

Hanover County government offices and solid waste centers will be closed on Friday, January 17, for Lee-Jackson Day and Monday, January 20, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The solid waste centers will be open on Saturday and Sunday.

School Board to hear proposed budget on Tuesday night

School Superintendent Dr. Michael Gill will present the proposed Fiscal Year 2021 School Operating Budget, five-year capital improvements plan and FY 21 school nutrition fund budget on Tuesday night, January 21, at 7 p.m. The School Board will invite citizen input at a public hearing on January 28 at 7 p.m. You can find the agenda here.

Board of Supervisors to hold workshop Wednesday afternoon

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors meets at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22. At 3:30 p.m., the Board will meet in the Emergency Communications Building for a workshop on County Administrator recruitment. County Administrator Rhu Harris is retiring effective May 15. At 6 p.m., the meeting will reconvene in the Board Room.

Board of Supervisors meeting continues Wednesday night

After the Board reconvenes in the Board Room, the Board will appoint a new School Board representative for the South Anna District. The County Administrator will present the proposed Fiscal Year 2021 Initiatives. Following a closed session, the Board will hold planning public hearings beginning at 7 p.m. Also on the agenda is consideration of the appeal of the site plan approval for Cedar Lane Industrial Park.
