Board of Supervisors meets Wednesday

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to hold its first meeting of 2020 on Wednesday, January 8. The meeting will begin at 3 p.m., with the first order of business being the election of the Board's Chairman and Vice Chairman for the year. The Board will also adopt its meeting schedule for 2020 and make appointments to committees. This is the first Board meeting for newly elected members Sue Dibble of the South Anna District and Michael Herzberg of the Cold Harbor District. Also in the afternoon, the Board will receive updates on highway matters, hear a presentation on the Annual Report and be updated on the 2020 session of the General Assembly by Dennis Walter, County Attorney. In the evening, the Board will hold a public hearing to receive nominations for the South Anna District’s representative on the Hanover School Board. Any candidate for that position must be announced during this public hearing. Agenda here.

Winter Home Gardening Series Begins tomorrow

Hanover Master Gardeners have a schedule of winter classes that begin tomorrow (Saturday, January 4) at the Mechanicsville Library. The subject on January 4 will be Container Gardening.
