Wegmans to create 700 jobs with distribution center

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors has announced on a performance agreement with Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., a grocery retailer, to establish a 1.1 million square foot distribution center on a 218-acre site near the intersection of Sliding Hill and Ashcake Roads. Governor Ralph Northam made the official announcement of the company’s decision. This is one of Hanover’s biggest economic development announcements in years. Read the story here.

Board appoints citizen members to Broadband Committee

The Board of Supervisors has appointed six citizen members to the Broadband Advisory Committee that will begin meeting next month. They will join Board members Sean Davis and Sue Dibble on the committee. Read the story here.

Hanover DASH

New ride program for seniors, those with disabilities

Hanover County has launched a new service for residents of Hanover who are 60+ years of age or who have a disability. Hanover DASH is a new specialized transportation program to help eligible residents travel to medical appointments, shopping, banking, and formal social activities. Read the story here. Rabies Clinic

Rabies Vaccination Clinic tomorrow

Hanover Animal Control will hold a rabies vaccination clinic on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Hanover County Administration Building from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $8 per dog or cat. Only healthy, non-pregnant animals will be vaccinated. No wolf hybrids or animals other than domestic dogs or cats will be vaccinated.
