The connection of Cool Spring Road to Atlee Station Road will be closed beginning September 16, weather permitting. This begins the traffic changes associated with the extension of Atlee Road to Atlee Station Road.
On September 16, work crews will begin flagging operations on Cool Spring Road. By the end of that day, Cool Spring Road will be connected to Atlee Road, which will direct traffic to Rt. 301. A portion of this connection will be temporarily gravel.
After September 16, vehicles will only be able to turn left from Cool Spring Road onto Atlee Road. No right turns will be available from Cool Spring Road to the schools complex on Atlee Station Road until the spring of 2018.
For approximately one week after September 16, there will be single-lane closures on the new connection of Cool Spring Road as pavement is installed.
During construction, there will be significant impacts to area travelers and neighborhoods. Future changes to traffic patterns will be announced. The project is not expected to be completed until August 2018.
