[ARCHIVED] Budesky, Turner present the State of the County to Chamber

On November 29, County Administrator John A. Budesky and Economic Development Director Brandon updated Hanover business leaders with the State of the County. With the theme of “Hanover is better together”, the presentation highlighted such major accomplishments as the adoption of a Strategic Plan and Comprehensive Plan that benefitted from extensive public input. “Here in Hanover means working with our citizens,” Budesky said.

Budesky briefed attendees on the progress of the “Connect Hanover” broadband initiative, which will provide high quality internet access to more than 6,000 unserved or underserved homes and businesses, as well as many construction projects. School superintendent Michael Gill highlighted educational milestones achieved by our students. Turner’s part of the presentation provided an overview of the positive impacts business investments have had on our local economy and examples of recent prospect development. It included testimonials from several business representatives.

A final segment included a look-ahead to 2024 and future years. Among the priorities are continued enhancements in community engagement, managing growth and development and the need to create flexible budgets that meet the need for continued investment in services desired by the public while also preparing for changes in the economy.

Our thanks to Covenant Woods for hosting the event, which was offered by Hanover's Chamber of Commerce.
