In-person absentee voting opens Sept. 22 for November General Election

In-person absentee voting begins Friday, Sept. 22 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 4 in the Early Voting Center at Hanover County’s Wickham Building, 7497 County Complex Road. Residents can cast ballots Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The Early Voting Center also will be open Saturday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Curbside voting will be offered to voters who are disabled or over the age of 65.

An absentee ballot drop box will be available through Nov. 7 at the same location and during the same hours as in-person absentee voting. Absentee ballots can also be dropped off at polling locations on Election Day.

Monday, Oct. 16 is the deadline to register or make changes to voter registration in time for the General Election. Residents can check to make sure their registration is correct by visiting www.elections.virginia.gov/citizen-portal/.

Those who wish to vote by mail must apply for an absentee ballot by Friday, Oct. 27 at 5 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7. Polling places will be open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m.
