Twelve Hanover County residents announced as candidates for two seats on the Hanover School Board at a public hearing held by the Board of Supervisors on April 26. Beaverdam and Henry are the two districts for which nominees are sought.
There are eight candidates in the Beaverdam District:
- Laurie Anderson
- DeShaunda Artis
- William "Greg" Coleman
- Karen Fleetwood
- Garrett Gordon
- Brianne Jackson
- George Monroe, Jr.
- Richard Waldrop
There are four candidates in the Henry District:
- Tanya Hall
- Emily Koye
- Charles "Chuck" McGhee
- Whitney Bishop Welsh
These candidates will be expected to submit their backgrounds and discuss their qualifications with the Supervisor representing their district at a minimum. The Supervisors, Rob Monolo of Beaverdam and Sean Davis of Henry, will recommend their preferred candidate to the full Board on May 24. The full Board will then make an appointment for each district.
