Hanover County will honor first responders who died on 9/11/01 with a special ceremony on Friday, September 9, 2022. This ceremony will be held in front of the historic Hanover Courthouse beginning at 9 a.m. and will include County and Town officials and representatives of Hanover Fire/EMS, the Hanover Sheriff’s Office and the Ashland Police Department. The public is invited to attend. 

In addition to special remarks, the event will include the reading of the names of public safety lives that were lost on 9/11/01 and a ringing of the bell in memory of their sacrifices.

In the event of rain, the event will be moved into the Board of Supervisors meeting room.
